You ride a bike.
You want it to feel better.
There’s a process for that.
About Built to Ride
Bike fitting is a normal part of riding well, like working with a coach or seeing a physio. You don’t need to be injured. You don’t need to race. You don’t need a specific problem. An interest in riding more comfortably or more confidently is enough. If you do have something specific going on, that’s what the process is built for.
The studio
Built to Ride is a dedicated fit studio in the Ward, in Guelph. One rider at a time, by appointment only.
The space is quiet and set up for bike fit and movement analysis. There’s a bike platform, video, pressure mapping, and room to move off the bike when the session calls for it. The only thing happening in the room is your fit.
Sessions are unhurried and conversational. You’ll know what’s being changed and why. The goal is a position you understand well enough to maintain on your own, not a set of numbers you need someone else to interpret.
The fitter
The studio is led by Tim Plunkett.
Tim has spent twenty years fitting bikes, servicing bikes, building bikes, and owning and operating a bike shop (Speed River Bicycle). He’s worked with national-level triathletes, competitive road and track cyclists, and a lot of people who just want to stop being uncomfortable on Saturday morning rides. The work is the same either way: observe how the rider moves, adjust the bike, and explain what changed and why.
Alongside that, Tim has spent years coaching and training in a gym environment, including Olympic lifting, movement assessment, and strength work. That background shapes how he looks at a rider on the bike. Position is constrained by the body, and understanding how someone moves is often the fastest way to understand why a position isn’t working.
Built to Ride brings those pieces together in one room.

How it works
There are three levels of service. Most people start with Level 2, which is a full bike fit that looks at the rider and the bike together. Level 1 is a shorter setup session. Level 3 is a multi-session process for riders who want to go deeper into how they move.
If you’re not sure which one is right, reach out and we’ll figure it out together.
