Level 1 — Setup

$200 · ~1.5 hours

Make my bike feel better.

Level 1 is the simplest service we offer, and that is intentional.

Not every rider needs a comprehensive fit. Not every bike warrants one. And not every problem on the bike is a movement problem or a limiter problem. Sometimes the bike is just set up wrong, and fixing that is enough to make riding noticeably better.

This is a focused session. We look at the key contact points, make adjustments while you are on the bike, and get you into a position that is clearly better than where you started.

We use video and saddle pressure mapping during the session. Not to go deep on movement analysis, but to confirm that what we are doing is actually working, to catch obvious saddle fit or balance issues, and to make the changes easier to see and understand in real time. The information is used in the session, not saved for a report.

What you leave with is a bike set up sensibly, a position you can ride right away, and a basic understanding of what we changed and why. Nothing more than that, and nothing less.

Who this is for

It works well for riders who are new to cycling and have never had any kind of fit done. It works well for commuters who want to stop arriving at work with a sore back or numb hands. It works well for anyone who has just bought a bike and wants it dialled in before putting real time on it. If you ride a hybrid, a commuter, a mountain bike, or you are just getting comfortable on drop bars for the first time, Level 1 is usually the right place to start.

Level 1 is not the right fit for competitive or high performance riders who are training seriously and want to understand how their body is limiting their position. It is not designed to address chronic discomfort that has persisted across multiple bikes or positions, or movement patterns that show up under fatigue. It is also not a substitute for a comprehensive fit if you are preparing for a long event, managing an injury history, or trying to build a position you can sustain over several hours.

Level 1 does not cover Triathlon, Time Trial or track bike setups.

What’s Included

Level 1 is a single session. There are no follow-ups built in and no ongoing process.

The session covers on-bike adjustment of the key contact points while you are pedalling: saddle height and fore-aft, handlebar reach and drop, cleat position and stance width. Video analysis and saddle pressure mapping are used throughout. You leave with a position you can ride right away.

If you want the bike to feel better and you want to ride it this weekend, Level 1 is where we start.
